Speakers at an advocacy workshop on strengthening local governance initiatives held at Jessore Collectorate Conference Room on Thursday said strengthening of local government such as union council is needed to empower the community. Community empowerment programme, BRAC organized the workshop was attended by social leaders, teachers, journalists, politicians and officials of the administration.
Dr Humayan Kabir, deputy commissioner, Jessore was the chief guest in the programme.
