Stocks see upward trend on higher transactions

Stocks witnessed upward trends on Tuesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 503.67 crore from Monday’s Taka 486.64 crore and the daily trade also rose to 13.88 crore share from 12.23 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 6.08 points up at 6,088.37. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 1.99 points up at 2,246.03 and with 1.52 points up at 1,406.75.
At DSE, out of the day’s 337 securities, prices of 167 securities closed higher against 123 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Apex Foods, Apex Tannery, Apex Spinning, BD Lamps and Metro Spinning. The major losing issues were Keya Cosmetic, Nitol Insurance, Paramount Textile, Premier Cement and Lanka Bangla Finance.
Lanka Bangla Finance topped the turnover list followed by BRAC Bank, ANWARGALV, PTL and Keya Cosmetic.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 29.11 points up at 18,821.20. At CSE, 237 issues were traded. Of those, 126 closed higher and 76 closed lower.
