Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said all necessary steps have been taken to make internet safe for children.
“We have taken initiatives to filter harmful contents to ensure safe internet for children. It is essential to make ICT education compulsory from primary level to create awareness among children,” he said. The minister said this recently while addressing a conference on safe internet for children organised by UNICEF at Software Park in Kawran Bazar area in the capital.
“We need to provide children-friendly contents on internet as it is very hard to find such things nowadays. The government is trying to save all specially children from harmful contents. It is very hard to tackle this problem as those contents are being uploaded from outside of the country,” Jabbar further said.
The minister also laid emphasis on adopting plans for raising efficient human resource with ICT knowledge to tackle the challenge of 5G and execution of those plans.
