Sonali Bank Recreation Club emerged champions in the Marcel Air Conditioner Dhaka Metropolis 2nd Division Volleyball League to qualify for the First Division League from next season beating Nagar Samaj Kalyan Sangha by 3-1 sets in the final at Dhaka Volleyball Stadium on Monday.
However, Nagar Samaj Kalyan Sangha finished runners-up while Banani Nabarun Sangha became 3rd in the league.
Champions Sonali Bank RC received prize money of Tk 30,000 while runners-up Nagar Samaj Kalyan Sangha got Tk 20,000.
Mizu Miah of Sonali Bank was adjudged as the best setter, Mohammad Nasir and Kamalesh of Nagar SKS named as the defender and best attacker of the league respectively to receive home appliances from sponsor Walton.
First Senior Additional Director of the league sponsor RB Group (Walton) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was the chief guest in the day’s final and later he distributed the prizes.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Ashiqur Rahman Miku, joint secretary Advocate Fazle Rabbi Babul and league committee secretary Kazi Abdul Hannan were also present on the occasion.
