Int'l Anti-Corruption Day observed: Social movement against corruption underscored

The International l Anti-Corruption Day was observed in Chapainawabganj in a befitting manner on Friday morning.
Chapainawabgaj district unit of the Corruption Prevention Committee arranged human chain, colourful procession and discussion meeting on the occasion.
The human-chain was formed in front of Bangabandhu Mukto Manch in Chapainawabganj town and the procession was taken out from same venue. After parading the main roads of the town, the procession ended at the circuit house auditorium. A discussion meeting was held there with the president of the Corruption Prevention Committee, Chapainawabgaj unit Professor Dr. Md. Siraj Uddin in the chair. It was addressed among others, by additional district magistrate Ershad Hossain Khan, vice president of the committee Md. Golam Kabir and general secretary of the same Mosiul Karim Babu, members Roksana Ahmed and Bilkis Ara Mohua.
Bagerhat Correspondent adds: Under the auspices of Sachetan Nagarik Committee (SANAC), Bagerhat and Bagerhat District Administration celebrated the International Anti-corruption Day was celebrated in the district town in a befitting manner on Thursday .
The day’s programme started with a colourful rally that was brought out from the local Sanskritik Foundation premises at 10 pm and led by Md. Mamunul Islam, ADC (Gen), Bagerhat and Sharif Nazrul Islam, Nirbahi Officer of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila rounded the main roads of the district town and ended at the same place.
After that a discussion meeting was held in the local Sanskritik Foundation with Adv Ramkrisna Basu, President , SANAC, Bagerhat in the chair.
 The welcome address was given by Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, Vice-president of SANAC. Md. Mamunul Islam, ADC (Gen), while was addressing the meeting as the Chief Guest . He said, if we try to make ourselves freed from all kinds of corruptions the mission will be succeed today or to-morrow. He further added, each and every family and every educational institution can play an important role to make our future generations freed from corruptions.
The meeting was also addressed among others by Sharif Nazrul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Bagerhat Sadar and Prof. Mozaffar Hossain as the special guest, Adv SM Jahangkr Ali Babu, SANAC Member, Dr. Saifuzzaman, District Live-stock Officer, Bagerhat, Adv.Jahangir Ali, Shilpi Smaddar, SANAC member and Sardar Shukur Ali. Shaikh Mujibor Rahman conducted the discussion meeting.
BSS from Rajshahi reports: Speakers at a human-chain discussion have underscored the need for forging social movement against corruption for building a poverty-free and hunger-free Bangladesh.
They viewed community participation towards the anti-corruption campaign has become an urgent need for building mass-opinion against the social disease.
Local Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC), an inspired organization of Transparency International (TIB), organized the programme at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point in the city on Thursday in observance of International Day Against Corruption- 2016. Local office of Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) supported the programme.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Ashraf Uddin, Director of Anti Corruption Commission Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan, CCC President Prof Abdus Salam, former chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Shirin Sufiya Khanom, income tax lawyer Mohsin Khan and TIB Area Manager Mahmud Ali spoke on the occasion.
BSS from Rangpur says: Anti-corruption activists here on Thursday stressed on raising collective voice of the common people against corruption in line with spirit of the War of Liberation to build a corruption free society.
They expressed the opinion at a pre-rally discussion organised by the District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises here in observance of the International Anti Corruption Day- 2016.
The District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh under the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention Project extended assistance in observing the day here as elsewhere in the country and globe as a whole.
Elaborate programmes, including taking oath against corruption by the school students, bicycle rally, quiz competitions, recitation of anti-corruption poems, publishing wall magazines, guardians’ rally, prize distribution and cultural functions, were arranged.
Deputy Director of District Combined Office of ACC Mozahar Ali Sarder addressed the discussion as the chief guest with President of District CPC Professor Mozammel Haque in the chair.
General Secretary of District CPC Akbar Hossain moderated the function also addressed by Assistant Director of Rangpur Combined Office of ACC Atikur Rahman, members of District CPC, Interiority Units and its Advisory Council members.
BSS from Faridpur adds: International Anti-Corruption Day was observed here this morning in a befitting manner through holding rally, human chain and discussion meeting.
District Integrated Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), TIB, Faridpur chapter and Sachentan Nagrak Committee (SANAK) arranged the programme to create awareness among the people.
The human chain and discussion was held on local press club premises with SANAK president Ramendra Nath Krmakar in the chair. ADM Md. Maniruzzaman was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
It was addressed, among others, by DD ACC Md. Fazlul Haque, TIB president Md. Mujibur Rahman, Prof. Md. Shahjahan and AD of ACC Tanvir Ahmed.
