Smuggled drug worth Tk 56 lakh destroyed in Dinajpur

Smuggled drugs, such as phensidyl syrups, wines, cannabis and banned injections, worth about Taka 56 lakh were destroyed in presence of high officials by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Dinajpur on Monday. The drugs were seized by the anti-smuggling squads of Dinajpur BGB-2 during the May-2014 to February-15 in different frontier areas of the district. The drugs, including 13,192 bottles of phensidyl syrup,33 liters refined wine, 69 bottles of Indian wine,1,266 different kinds of banned injections, 3 kilogrammes of hems and tobacco related drugs, were destroyed by bulldozers at Kutibari of Dinajpur. BGB’s Dinajpur Sector Commander Col. Hela Han Mong, Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Shamim Al-Razi, Police Super Mohammad Ruhul Amin, BGB-2 commander Lt.Col.Mohammad Jamal Hossain and journalists, among others, were present on the occasion.
