Skill summit in city from Dec 11

An international summit on skill development and decent work will begin in Dhaka on December 11 to develop human resources in the country.
The three-day conference on “Dhaka Summit on Skills, Employability and Decent Work-2016” will bring together the representatives of government, international organisations, owners and lobours.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the summit at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city, Farooq Ahmed, Secretary General of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) said.
Labour and Employment Ministry, BEF and National Coordination Committee for Workers Education (NCCWE) with cooperation of the a2i programme of the Prime Minister’s office are organising the international conference.
Ahmed said the summit has been taken into consideration the key thematic areas of the ILO’s centenary dialogues, global supply chain issues.
“Considering BEF’s focus on employability, skills and productivity and the ILO’s centenary initiative themes, BEF is organizing this high profile and interactive Public Private Dialogue (PPD),” he added.
The BEF Secretary General said the summit will comprise four technical sessions which will discuss various issues including the importance of efficiency for decent employment, youth employment, development of silks of people with disabilities and self-employment.
The summit will also be discussed many other issues like challenges for Bangladesh to cope with management of decent job supply, labour-owner relations in factories, safe work environment and social communication.
