AFC President's Cup: Sk Russel KC leaves for Colombo today

Former Bangladesh champions Sheikh Russel KC will leave here today (Thursday) for Colombo to take part in the final round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup that will begin on Saturday (Sept 20) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in the Sri Lankan capital.
Sheikh Russel KC will start their AFC campaign taking on Erchim Football Club of Mongolia on Saturday at 1:00 pm (Sri Lanka Time). In the other opening day’s fixture, Sri Lanka Air Force SC will meet Manang Marshyangdi Club of Nepal at 4:00 pm at the same venue.
In all, six teams — split into two groups — will compete in the final round in the continental soccer meet.
Group A – Sri Lanka Air Force Sporting Club, Manang Marshyangdi Club of Nepal and FC HTTU of Turkmenistan.
Group B – Sheikh Russel KC of Bangladesh, Erchim FC of Mongolia and Rimyongsu Club of DPRK.
In the remaining final round matches on Monday (Sept 22), Erchim FC will face Rimyongsu Club in the first match at 1:00 pm while FC HTTU will meet Marshyangdi Club at 4:00 pm.
On Sept 24 (Wednesday), Sheikh Russel KC will play their 2nd match against Rimyongsu Club at 1:00 pm while Sri Lanka Air Force SC will face FC HTTU at 4:00 pm.
Two group champions will play in the final on September 26 at 4:00 pm. All matches will be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
