2 students death: Six persons indicted

The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday (Thursday) framed charges against six persons in a case filed in connection with the death of two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College on the Airport Road on July 29.
Judge KM Imrul Kayes of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court passed the order after charge hearing. The indicted people are the owners of two ‘Jabal-e-Noor’ buses Shahadat Hossain and Jahangir Alam, drivers Masum Billah and
Zobair Sumon and assistants Enayet Hossain and Asad.
The court also fixed November 1 for recording the depositions of the witnesses in the case.
On September 6, Inspector Kazi Shariful Islam of the Detective Branch (DB) submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court in Dhaka against the six persons.
The slain students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were Abdul Karim Rajib, 18, and Dia Khanam Mim, 17, in the incident, which triggered nationwide student protests for safe roads.
Dia’s father Jahangir Alam lodged the case with Cantonment Police Station.
