Sinha murder Court accepts chargesheet, drops Sifat from charges

A court in Cox’s Bazar on Monday accepted the chargesheet in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
At the same, it also acquitted Shahedul Islam Sifat, who accompanied slain Major (Retd) Sinha, from the charges brought against him.Cox’s Bazar court of senior magistrate Tamanna Farah also issued an arrest warrant against Teknaf OC Pradeep’s associates Sagar.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Khairul Alam submitted the chargesheet with the same court on December 13. On July 31 night, Major (Retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
His sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case on August 5 where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre’s Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two.
Besides, seven more policemen were also made accused in the case.
