Bangladesh-Ireland first one-dayer ends in no result

The first match of the five-match unofficial ODI series between hosts Bangladesh A team and touring Ireland A team was abandoned due to rain at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
The 2nd one-day match of the five-match series will be held on Thursday (October 19) at the academy ground of the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
In the day’s match, visiting Irish team batted first after winning the toss were all out for 229 in 49.1 overs featuring two good partnerships.
After departure of four top batsmen cheaply for 14 runs in 5 overs, one down SP Terry pairing with L Lucker contributed 83 runs in the 5th wicket stand while BJ McCarty partnering with AR McBriane scored 64 runs in the 8th wicket stand to carry team total to a respectable position.
SP Terry scored 65 runs off 64 balls featuring seven fours and three sixes, number nine BJ McCarthy made 32-ball 39 runs hitting five fours and a six, number eight AR Mcbrine contributed 65-ball 37 runs with two fours and a six while L Tucker hit 41-ball 27 runs with two boundaries.
Abul Hasan, Abu Haider, Tanvir Haider and Subashis Roy claimed two Irish wicket each conceding 40,40,40 and 48 runs respectively.
Chasing a target of 230 runs in 50 overs, the 2nd string Bangladesh team scored 73 for 3 in 14 overs before the match was abandoned due to rain.
Opener Zakir Hasan and Tanvir Haider were in batting with 35 and 10 runs respectively at that time.
