Singapore interested to invest in BD

Mr,William Chik, Consul General of Singapore to Bangladesh, has said that Singapore is ready to invest 3 lakh crore taka in foreign countries. Out the total amount, the country wants to invest 20,000 crore taka in the mega projects in Bangladesh.
A 29-member business delegation of Singapore led by the consul general held a view exchange meeting with the leaders of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) at the World Trade Centre on Friday morning.
While addressing the meeting, William Chik, the Consul General of Singapore to Bangladesh said that the businessmen of Singapore showed keen interest to invest in Bangladesh. He said the relationship between Bangladesh and Singapore is very deep. Singapore is very interested to invest in Bangladesh, particularly in Chittagong.
Singapore can work together for the development of Chitta-gong as Chittagong is the port city of Bangladesh. He has further said Singapore is also interested to invest in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Besides, Singapore can assist Bangladesh for construction of Deep Sea Port here in Chittagong, he added.
The view exchange meeting was chaired by president of CCCI Mahabubul Alam. Among others president of Bangladesh Business Chamber of Singapore Mirja Golam Sabur, delegates of the business delegation of Singapore, former president of CCCI engineer Ali Ahamod, directors Jahedul Haque, Omar Hajjaj, outgoing director Mahafujul Haque Shah, member of Chittagong Port Authority Jafar Alam, General Manager of BEPZA Khorshed Alam, OOCL General Managher Captain Gias Uddin, businessmen Subrata Kumar Bhoumik, Nurul Islam, Sayed Jamal ahamed, A K Akter Hossain, Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Moahmeed Habibul Haque, M A Motaleb, Mohammed Jahurul Alam, Anjan Shekhor Das and Abdul Manan Shohel addressed the meeting.
