Asian Chess: Siam shares 2nd slot after 3 rounds

Securing two points, Ikramul Haq Siam of Bangladesh shared the second slot with two other players from his group after the third round matches of the Asian Junior and Girls Under-20 Chess Championships held at Tagaytay city of Philippines on Sunday.
In the second round match, national junior runner-up Siam drew against IM Garcia Jan Emmanuel, a second seeded player from the Philippines while another draw in the third round match against FM Bilguun Sumiya of Mongolia meant she remained unbeaten as yet. 2nd and 3rd round matches were held on Sunday.
Earlier in the first round match on Saturday, Siam beat Ahmed Alzarovni of UAE.
Meanwhile, in the girls section, national junior girl champion Zahuratul Zannat Zisha of Bangladesh lost all three matches.
Zisha lost to WFM Zhylkaidarova Sholpan of Kazakhstan in the first round while against WFM Al-Moaamari Mozah of UAE in 2nd round and in 3rd round she lost to Suede Mikee Charlene of Philippines.
A total of 30 players split into two sections are taking part in the continental meet.
In the Junior Section, 14 players are taking part, including two IM and two FIDE Masters, from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Mongolia, Philippines, Guam and UAE while in the Girls Section 16 players, including one WIM and six Women FIDE Masters are taking part.
