Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Since 2006 Shormymala has been performing on stage regularly with the theatre troupe Palakar. Under the banner of this theatre troupe she has already performed in 10 plays on stage like Nora’s Daughter, Banglar Mati Banglar Jol and Mrittika Kumari. As a talented actress, Shormymala has acceptability not only to her theatre colleagues but also to all the play viewers and directors. As a result, she got the opportunity to perform in a role titled Moyur in Goutam Ghosh’s film Moner Manush. Gazi Rakayet made a film titled Mrittika Maya to cast her where Shormy acted outstandingly superb. As a result, she will receive the National Film Award 2013 in category of Best Actress from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on April 4 in a gala function. While sharing her feelings to get the National Film Award Shormymala told this correspondent, “At first, I got the news to get the National Film Award from director of my acted film Gazi Rakayet sir. After knowing the matter I really became speechless and emotionless. When Rakayet sir told me the news, I wanted to know it again and again to confirm the matter. I could not express my feelings in a word to inform the news. I am really grateful to full unit of Mrittika Maya.”It may be mentioned that Shormymala debuted her career in TV plays by Aminur Rahman Mukul’s a play titled Bokul Phul. Her acted first drama serial was Golam Sohrab Dodul’s Shatkahon.Recently Shormy’s acted a serial titled Pinjor, directed by Badrul Anam Soud, has been finished to telecast. Meanwhile, Shormymala’s acted two serials – Shatti Tarar Timir, directed by Afsana Mimi, and Hollabaji, directed by Golam Sohrab Dodul, – are being telecasted on ATN Bangla and Banglavision respectively now. But interesting thing is that when Shormy got the news of getting National Film Award on Tuesday she along with her friend, also actress and play director Jayita Mahalanobish started a food cart named Henshel at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, she mentioned.
