Some markets in parts of Dhaka decided to remain closed on Sunday morning, but some small clothing traders did set up shop outside those markets.
Traders and store owners say that despite the lifting of lockdown restrictions, people are scared to go out. There are few customers on the streets and regular public transport services have not resumed. It will take more time to return to business as usual.

Meanwhile, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said anyone who will be found keeping shops and shopping malls open, not maintaining health guidelines in a proper way to contain the spread of coronavirus, will have to face punishment as per the law.
“From today, mobile courts will conduct drives to see if health guidelines are being followed or not in the shops and shopping malls,” he added.

However, the government will impose a ‘strict’ lockdown again if health safety rules are not followed everywhere, including the public transport, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader warned on Sunday.
