Title aspirants Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club came from behind to behind to beat Arambagh Krira Chakra 3-1 in the fifth round match of the ‘Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League Football held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Winners pressed hard from the word go, but it was Arambagh KC who shot into lead against the run of play. Arambagh’s foreign signing Alamli Bukolo Olalekaw made no mistake when he found a loose ball at the top of the rival box. He latched on it to take a thunderous shot which sailed over the rival goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the proceedings.
Sheikh Jamal did not waste any time as they started pressing hard and finally in the 36th minute, Arambagh’s Jalal Miah in a bid to clear the ball conceded an own goal(1-1.
Just in the dying second of the first half, Arambagh’s Shahriar Bappy, almost in an identical manner scored an own to give Sheikh Jamal a 2-1 lead.
Solomon King Kanform sealed the fate of the match for Sheikh Jamal as he scored the third goal in the 63rd minute of the play (3-1).
Arambahg defense fought hard in the remaining period not to concede any further goal.
This was Sheikh Jamal’s fourth win and they have collected 13 points while Arambagh remained on 3 playing same number of matches.
