Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan sustained a fresh injury in a different region of his left thigh, after making him available for first Test following his groin injury.
Shakib sustained groin injury during the third and final ODI on January 25 after which he was kept 48 hours observation.
He then played the first Test in Chattogram and scored 68 with willow before sending down six overs. After that he left the ground and didn’t come back as the third day’s game was going on.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that Shakib sustained a fresh injury on his thigh while fielding on day two game of the opening Test against West Indies.
“Having recovered from his previous groin injury ahead of the first Test and successfully managing to bat in the Bangladesh first innings as well as send down six overs, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has suffered a strain in a different region of his left thigh while fielding on day two,” a BCB statement said.
