Shafiul devastating bowling sends East Zone reeling at 192 for 7

Shafiul Islam sent early warning for national selectors as he with a devastating spell of 5 wicket 56 saw East Zone in a spot of bother against North Zone in their first innings on the second day of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. Before that North Zone beginning the day at 305 for 5 could add another 65 runs to be all out for 374.
On Monday it was Dhiman Ghosh who scored 47 to take their side past 350 marks.
Mohammad Saifuddin with 4 for 55 was the pick of the East Zone bowler. Abul Hossain supported him with 3 for 85.
East Zone suffered a collapse when they came out to bat in their first innings due to devastating spell by Shafiul Islam who was not taken in the national team as he was coming back from an injury.
Shafiul grabbed five East Zone scalps for 56 runs, skipper Alok Kapali with and Abul Hasan with 25 made sure that their total crossed 100 marks.
They were tottering at 128 for 7 but Shafiuddin with 35 and Rahatul Ferdous with 23 added 64 priceless runs for unfinished eight wicket stand to save the team from total embarrassment.
