A schoolgirl was rescued while being trafficked to India through Rudrapur bordering area in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Nourin Akter, 14, a resident of Nayatola in the capital.
Local people said Nourin had a relationship of love with one Sourav.
On Wednesday night, Sourav brought Nourin here in Benapole in the name of going to a relative’s house.
On Thursday night, Sourav handed over the girl to the human traffickers.
Sensing danger, the girl ran away and entered a house in the area and asked for help.
Later local people rescued her.
