Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday welcomed Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud whose arrival would usher in a new horizon in the bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Abul Momen gave his counterpart a heartiest welcome with bouquet of flowers at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.
During the reception ceremony, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohammad Javed Patwary and Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yussef Essa Al Dulaihan, among others, was present.
During his sojourn, Abdul Momen and Faisal Bin Farhan would hold a tete-a-tete meeting at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon at 10am today on Wednesday on a plethora of bilateral issues including trade, commerce, investment and manpower.
Bangladesh is optimistic about strengthening the bilateral relations through the visit of the Saudi Foreign minister and these relations would reach a new height.
Both the countries are looking for stronger political ties and augmentation of investment relations. Along with the bilateral discussion, Saudi foreign minister will join the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Arabic Language Institute.
In his honour, Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman will host a lunch.
Saudi Foreign Minister, according to his schedule, will also pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his brief visit.
Before his departure, the Saudi Foreign Minister will sign a number of cooperation documents, sources said.
