SAU CYBER CENTRE has shut for 2 years

The Cyber Centre of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University has shut down for two years. As a result the students are deprived of modern IT facilities. “the information and communication division was provide necessary application for reopen the cyber centre and purchase for modern desktop, printer and photocopy machine to the administration but the authority is not approved it till now” informed from the ICC directory.
Honors Student of SAU cannot access the valuable Institutional mail (edu mail). Also internet access for the residential student is inadequate. Wife Router of Shiraj-Ud-Doula hall has damaged for long time. Other two male hall have only one router for each with slow internet connection speed. Prof Dr. Md. Mufazzal Hossain,director of Information and Communication center (ICC) of SAU said New Nation that, students were not enough to run a cyber centre , so we have been shutdown the cyber centre.
But we have no enough information for the tender of the IT equipment for the cyber centre. He further said that, we have command to provide institutional mail only MS students; if the administration commands us to provide institutional mail to honors students we will offer the access to them. Pro. Dr. Md. Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor of SAU said that, the cyber centre is authorized by University Grant Commission (UGC).
We were provide them application for renew the fund for cyber centre.
He further said that, if the interested students offer application to the university register for the institutional mail. We will consider approving the mail for honors student.
