A 15-member executive committee of Bangladesh Agricultural University Journalists’ Association (BAUJA) has been formed on Monday for the year 2018.
Shaheeduzzaman Sagor of Daily Prothom Alo and Najib Mubin of Daily Ittefaq were elected as President and General Secretary, respectively.
Other members of the committee are- Md Yousuf Ali of Alokito Bangladesh as Vice-president, Musfiqur Rahman Sifat of daily Observer as joint secretary, Md Auwal Mia of daily Sangbad as Organizing Secretary, Md Nabil Tahmid of banglanews24.com as treasurer, Md Shahin Sardar of Jagonews24.com as Office Secretary, Abul Bashar Meraz of Kalerkantho as Press and Publication Secretary, Md Shahriar Amin of Amader Shomoy as Information and Technology Secretary, Md Jahid Hasan of Shikshabarta.com as Sports and Cultural Secretary.
Mofazzal Hossain Maya of Daily Janakantha, Rakibul Hasan of Dhakatimes24.com and Asikur Rahman of Bdlive24.com were elected as member and S M Ashiful Islam Maruf of daily Jugantor and Ahad Alam Shihab of daily Samakal were elected as executive member of the newly formed committee.
The election was held at BAUJA office at Teacher Student Centre (TSC), on Monday noon while its outgoing president S M Ashiful Islam acted as the chief election commissioner and BAUJA ex-president Din Mohammad Dinu and ex-Vice-president Md Ataul Goni Rabbani were the assistant election commissioner.
BAU VC Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar attended as a chief guest while Students affair Adviser Prof Dr S D Chowdhury, Proctor Prof Dr Md Atiqur Rahman Khokon presented at hand over program on Monday evening.
Different voluntary and political organizations of the university and different University Journalists’ Association welcomed the new committee.
