IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club emerged champion in the Open Blitz Rating Chess Tournament that concluded on Friday last at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Sagar earned 8 points out of 9 games to clinch the title.
GM Abdullah Al-Rakib of Bangladesh Navy became runner-up with the same points while Aminul Islam Polash finished third with 7.5 points.
Six players earned 7 points each. Their positions are: 4th-Md Sharif Hossain, 5th-Mahtabuddin Ahmed, 6th-Ikramul Haque Siam, 7th-Shafiq Ahmed, 8th-CM Sohel Chowdhury , 9th -IM Abu Sufian Shakil.
MM Zahirul Islam became 10th and Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu became 11th with 6.5 points each.
Later, Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation KM Shahidullah distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
