Rural women can be turned into skilled HR to eradicate poverty

There is no alternative to training for turning the unemployed rural women into skilled human resources to enhance their participation in income generation activities to eradicate poverty by achieving self-reliance, speakers said Tuesday.
They said this while distributing certificates among 80 unemployed rural women after completion of month long training on tailoring science and ‘Nakshi Kantha’ and eight women on completion of three month training course on automobile at Rabeya Community Centre in Fulbari upazila town of Dinajpur.
World Vision Bangladesh (WVB), an NGO, under its Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) arranged the certificate giving ceremony after completion of the training courses by the end of August last.
The NGO organised the training courses in four phases for 88 backward, unemployed extremely poor women, young girls and adolescents of different villages under four unions of Fulbari upazila to assist them attaining self-reliance through self-employments.
