Rotary Club of Basundhara (RCB) arranged a rally in front of the National Press Club to celebrate the National Tobacco Free Day 2016 yesterday.
The project Director of RCB Dr Shah Alam Chowdhury, Rotarian Akhter Hossain, Helal Uddin, Ananya Rahman, Farhana Jaman Liza, among others, was present at the rally.

Dr Shah Alam Chowdhury said, “About 6.4 million people are becoming poor for bearing treatment cost every year which obstruct the overall development of the country. On the other hand about 21.4 million people will be under threat of cancer disease by 2030. To control this situation and to ensure actual development in health system attention should be given on preventive measures.”

He also said tobacco consumption and drug abuse gradually push individuals, families and societies to ruination.
