Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said role of journalists is most important to build Sonar Bangla as dreamed by the father of the Nation Bangabadhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He disclosed it while addressing the training workshop on Policy on Journalism, objective news dissemination and Information rightsAct at Bangabandhu Hall of Chattogram Press Club as Chief Guest recently.
Bangladesh Press council with cooperation o Chattogram district administration organised the workshop for print and electronic media journalists. Information Minister said beside the online portal news, daily newspapers and Television online also existed .
He said all online portals will be brought under united registration and processing in connection is undergoing . He also urges Journalists Union and Press club to come forward to bring the online publications under registration. Information Minister said Chattogram is the second biggest city and pioneer port city of the country and the journalists hailed from Chattogram played important role during liberation war and independence of Bangladesh. Media playes important role in developing the talentcy of the new generations, he added. He expressed about investing reports which open the third eye of the society.
Chairman of the Press Council of Bangladesh Justice Md. Momtazuddin inaugurated the workshop .
Editor o the Bangladesh Protidin Naiyem Nizam and member o f Press council Manzurul Ahsan Bulbul were present in it as special guests. Press council chairman emphasised to ensure independence of journalists and their safety and there should be guide lines for the profession o Journalists otherwise the status of the lournos won’t the sustained . Additional Deputy Commssioner Md. Kamal Hossain presided the worshop.
