Robson secures Kings’ 2nd win

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings recorded their second successive victory in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football when they edged past Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by a solitary goal in the third round match was held on Saturday at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi, Gazipur.
With the day’s victory, Bashundhara Kings raised their tally to six points from three matches while Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra yet to open their account playing the same number of matches.
Bashundhara Kings went into attack in the beginning of the match, but they could not find the net due to lacks of proper finishing, that resulted the first half ended in a goalless draw.
After the resumption, Kings came to the field with more organised way to break the deadlock and they had to wait a little time to take the lead when their Brazilian forward Robson scored the all-important goal in the 58th minute of the match.
Muktijoddha Sangsad however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back by creating some scoring chances, but they failed to score any in the remaining proceeding.
Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Bangladesh Police Football Club on Wednesday (Feb 16) while Muktijoddha Sangsad will meet Uttar Baridhara Club on Friday (February 18)  
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made a losing start in the league as they suffered a 1-2 goal defeat to new comers of the league Swadhinata Krira Sangha in their league opening matches, but they bounced back to register a hard-fought solitary goal victory over Uttar Baridhara Club in their second match of the league.
While the freedom fighters Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra suffered a solitary goal defeat to Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their league opening match and went down a 0-3 goal defeat to Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in their second match.
In the other match, Police hold ten men Sheikh Jamal DC. It was a fighting performance by Bangladesh Police Football Club as they forced giant Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to split point playing out to a goalless draw in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held on Saturday Shaheed Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium (SBFLMRS) in Munshiganj.
