The United States of America (USA) has handed over eight high speed metal shark-boats to Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on Monday afternoon.
Zosuya di Medlinger, representative of the US embassy in Bangladesh has handed over the boats to Captain M Shahidul Islam, Zonal Commander of BCG East zone in a programme.
Shahidul Islam said the high speed shark-boats will help to conduct any drive in the sea route.
The representative also handed over a three storied building for the Coastal Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) to help people during any natural calamity in future, he added.
