Five robbers shot an agent of British-American Tobacco and looted Tk 50 lakh here on Sunday noon, police said. Mohammad Harun, 30, a store supervisor of British-American Tobacco, accompanied by two colleagues, was going to deposit the money to a private bank from his office at Chayabithi in Gazipur, when the robbers on a motorcycle intercepted him at Shibbari area and looted Tk 50 lakh from him, police said.
When he resisted, one of the robbers fired at him. He was injured in the incident. Later, the miscreants fled from the scene.
Harun was admitted to a local hospital. He was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition
A case was filled with Joydevpur Police Station in this connection.
