Rizvi freed on bail

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was released from jail on bail on Wednesday.
 “Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has freed from Kashimpur Central Jail around 5:07pm. His health condition seemed not good,” Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, a Joint Secretary General of the BNP, said yesterday.
Senior Jail Super Prashanta Kumar Banik said, the BNP leader released from Kashimpur Central Jail-2 after his release order had reached the jail authorities.
Rizvi’s family members, including his wife, and some BNP leaders and activists received him at the jail gate with flowers.
Rizvi’s family members and BNP leaders said, he will soon receive treatment to recover his illness.
Earlier on Sunday, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court order that granted bail to Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, in an arson case filed with Ramna police station.
On October 13, the High Court granted six months anticipatory bail to the BNP leader in the case filed on January 18, 2015 on charges of attempting to kill police after hurling petrol bombs on a vehicle.
On August 18 this year, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi surrendered before the court and the court sent him to jail after rejecting his bail petitions in the cases.
The High Court on September 7 granted bail to Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in five cases.
