Staff Reporter :Local people captured a rickshawpuller while they were forming a human chain in front of the Press Club in Chittagong on Friday afternoon protesting the gruesome murder of police official’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.The rickshawpuller was identified as Ibrahim, 22, hailing from Tangail. Local people later handed him over the police. Police recovered two knives, a pen drive and cell phone from under his rickshaw’s seat. Jashim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station said when over 100 youths were forming human chain, they found the suspicious movement of the rickshawpuller and caught him. “We are interrogating the rickshawpuller whether he is involved in militant activities,” the police official said. Mahmuda Khanam Mitu was stabbed and shot dead by unidentified assailants at the city’s GEC intersection on her way to put her son into a school bus around 6.45 am on June 5 in Chittagong.
