A pedestrian named Bulbul (60) was killed when a Savar Paribahan bus ran over him near TSC of Jagannath University (JnU). Two people were also injured in the incident. The accident happened on Sunday morning.
Sutrapur Police Station OC Mainul Islam said that the son of the deceased Bulbul filed a case with Sutrapur Police Station as the plaintiff.
He said, this bus is now in Sutrapur thana. A pedestrian named Bulbul was killed in this accident on the spot. The rickshaw puller and a man were seriously injured.
On Sunday morning the bus ran over the rickshaw. It was coming from Bahadhur Shah Park Road and the rickshaw was coming from the side of JnU’s TSC. The rickshaw puller and a Jagannath University
security guard named Akash Das were injured. The rickshaw puller was hospitalised in the Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital and Akash das was treated at Jagannath University Medical Center.
It can be seen that the bus goes up on the pavement of the market behind TSC of the university. The main gate of the market was broken. Besides, the signboard of the traffic police on the side of the road was also battered.
The road was closed for some time after the accident. This causes traffic jams. Later the police came and impounded the bus.
