As part of the government’s food friendly programme, rice sale has started in Ishwardi at the rate of Tk 15 per kg.
The aim of the government is to establish a society without class discrimination. This is how the speakers reacted at the opening ceremony of the sale of rice at Kamal Brothers Dealer Shop on Jayanagar Shimool floor in Ishwardi on Wednesday
Presided over by UNO PM Imrul Kayes. Upazila Chairman Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas was the chief guest. Special guests were Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Salimpur Chairman Abdul Majid Bablu Malitha. Conducted by Upazila Food Officer Shariful Islam.
Krishak League leader Fazlur Rahman Malitha, Awami League leader Riazul Islam Sardar, dealer Kamal Uddin Biswas and other dignitaries and beneficiaries with digital cards were present on the occasion.
30 kg of rice will be distributed at the rate of Tk 15 per month among 12,155 card holders at 14 points in the upazila. The food department said that this activity will continue until the market system is controlled.
