Light rain with gusty wind likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office press release.
“Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay,” said the release.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
Country’s highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 36.3 degrees Celsius at Patuakhali and Thursday’s lowest temperature was 25.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Nikli, Sandwip and Hatiya.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Thursday was recorded 100 millimeters (mm) at Sitakunda.
