Rezaun Nabi’s solo art exhibition begins

A 15-day solo art exhibition of artist Rezaun Nabi titled Metamorphic -Naturally Transformed, began at Gallery Cosmos in the city’s Mohakhali’s New DOHS area on October 14.
A total of 38 artworks of the artist have been put on display at his 7th solo art exhibition curated by artist Afrozaa Jamil Konka and supported by Beximco.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid visited the exhibition on the opening day and conveyed his greetings to Rezaun Nabi who tried to enlighten the audience with natural creations and the dynamic flora and fauna etched in borders.
Director of Dhaka Bank Khondoker Jamil Uddin, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan and artist Rezaun Nabi, his wife artist Sohane Shahreen and artist Kalidas Karmakar were, among others, present at the inaugural function presided over by Director of Gallery Cosmos Tehmina Enayet.
Describing Rezaun Nabi’s artworks as very excellent, Kalidas Karmakar said, “He has impressed us with his colour.”
In his speech, Rezaun Nabi said he has long been working with nature and landscape. “Being an impressionist, I try to reflect in my metamorphic arts the nature of Bangladesh.”
Tehmina Enayet said Rezaun Nabi has expressed his talent through colours with an emotion of songs of art. “His every piece of art is a masterpiece.”
Rezaun Nabi was born in Dhaka in 1956. Although he grew up in urban Dhaka, his works are devoid of urbanisation. He completed his graduation and post graduation from the Drawing and Paintings Department of the Institute of Fine Arts (now the Faculty of Fine Arts) of Dhaka University in 1880 and 1983 respectively.
His first art exhibition was held in the Netherlands in 1988. He was awarded for his artworks on several occasions.
