Revolutionary progress actived in social service: Nuruzzaman

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Sunday said the country has made revolutionary progress in the social service sector during the tenure of the present government.
“The country has made revolutionary progress in the social service sector during the current government’s tenure. In order to change the destiny of the countrymen, about 1.25 crore people have been brought directly under the allowance facility,” he said.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized on the premises of the Department of Social Services at Agargaon in the capital on the occasion of the National Social Service Day, a press release said, reports BSS.
State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare Rashed Khan Menon, MP, were present there as special guests.
Secretary to the Ministry of Social Welfare Mahfuza Akhtar presided over it.
Later, the minister inaugurated the National Social Service Day programme and handed over memento of honor among the officials involved in the implementation of Government to Person (G2P) system for allowance through mobile banking.
