Submission of investigation report in the case filed over the fire in Banani’s FR Tower fire of March 28 last year has been deferred again on Thursday.
Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka on Thursday fixed April 16 for police to submit the probe report as the Investigation Officer failed to deposit it yesterday.
Since the fire, which killed 26 people and injured 73, the submission dates had been deferred a
number of times in the past few months. The fire quickly engulfed FR Tower, a 22-storey building in Banani.
Banani police box in-charge Sub-Inspector Milton Dutta filed the first case on March 30 with Banani Police Station.
Tasvir Ul Islam, one of the owners of FR Tower, SMHI Faruq, the land owner of the building, and Rupayan Group Chairman Liyakat Ali Khan Mukul, were made accused in this case.
