43rd anniversary: Reminiscence of Ghashful founder recalled in Ctg

A reminiscence meeting of founder of a non-government organisation — Ghashful — Shamsun Nahar Rahman Paran was held at Bangabandhu Hall of Chattogram Press Club on Saturday evening, marking her 5th death anniversary.
The 43rd anniversary of the organisation was also celebrated at the same meeting with Prof. Dr. AFM Imam Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Bandarban University attending it as the chief guest while Md. Manzarul Amin Chowdhury was in the chair.  
Speakers at the meeting recalled the memories of Shamsun Nahar Rahman Paran, paying glowing tributes to the founder of Ghashful, a philanthropist and a legendary figure in the arena of social development in Bangladesh.
Shakawat Hossain Majumder, AGM of ghashful, Mofizur Rahman, Deputy Director, Md. Faridur Rahman, Director (operation), Jerin Md.Hossain, Sania Rahman, Jhuma Rahman, Begum Shamsun  
Nahar of Comilla also spoke on the occasion, among others.
Besides, NGO officials Rafique Ahmed, Ms. Donaiprue of Bandarban, Journo Rusho Mahmud, Md. Abdul Karim, former Principal Secretary of GOB were present at the programmes.
Three noted personalities have been awarded with Shamsun Nahar Rahman Paran Padak-2020. The recipients are Razia Samad Dalia, Manzulika Chakma and Momena Begum for their outstanding contributions in social development fields.
In the venue, prizes have also been distributed among the winners of drawing competition in two groups.
The chief guest, Prof.Dr.AFM Imam ali, in his brief speech said that the government should evaluate the contributions of Shamsun Nahar Paran and urged the government to sustain the memories of Paran Rahman.
He said since his joining in Chattogram University in 1976, Paran Rahman used to visit his university and discussed different aspects of Ghashful.
A Multimedia projection on her life and contributions through Ghashful was presented at the function.
