REHAB demands Tk 20,000cr for housing loan

Real Estate and Housing Association (REHAB) asked govt to float fund for Tk.20 thousand crores for housing sector to bring dynamism in the real estate development in the country. Chairman of Chittagong Regional committee and Vice President of REHAB Abdul Khaiyum Chowdhury disclosed it at the press meet arranged at Chittagong Club Auditorium yesterday afternoon.
Abdul Khaiyum chowdhury read out a written statement in the press meet. The statement was told that to mitigate the accommodation problems of the mid and low income people, government should float house loan with 5% interest and easy installment facilities. He further said in the construction sector, about 15% people are engaged in this section and government should flourish the construction leakage industries like MS rod, cement, tiles and bricks for the s ector which will facilitate to help the country’s economy. The press meet was told that a 4-day long REHAB fair will begin at Hotel Radison Blue, Chittagong from tomorrow.
Among others, co-chariman Md. Omar Faruk, Co-chairman Engr. Md. Didarul Hoque Chowdhury were also present in the dais of the press meet, a REHAB sources said.
