The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday placed microbus driver Mohammad Nayeem on a 2-day remand for his alleged involvement in the road accident that killed mountaineer Reshma Nahar Ratna.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Millat Hossain passed the order on Wednesday.
Investigation Officer SI Mobarak Ali produced the accused in the court seeking five days’ remand. Earlier on Tuesday, police arrested the driver from Ibrahimpur area of the capital’s Kafrul.
Mountaineer Reshma Nahar Ratna was hit by a microbus while cycling on Lake Road near Chandrima Udyan in Sangsad Bhaban area of the capital on August 7. Later, she was taken to hospital where the physicians declared her dead.
