Ramzan is very near to us. The price of essential commodities is increasing by leaps and bounds. Prices of rice, pulses, oil, milk etc. are increasing day by day and it’s becoming difficult for the poor and middle class people to maintain families with their limited earnings.
No doubt, price of essential commodity goes up surpassing the purchasing power of common men. The ordinary people are at stake due to uncontrolled price hike. Some days ago, the state minister said, there are adequate stocks of food items and there will be no shortage of goods during the holy month of Ramzan.
But the buyers are not agreed with the minister because they are not finding solace in the statement of the minister. Most of the people in this country are still living below the poverty line. Most commodities are now beyond the purchasing power of this people. The syndicate of traders is one of the main reasons for the rise in commodity prices.
Please, think about the people. Take necessary actions and proper measures to tackle the situation.

We Want Trustworthy RAB
When Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was formed in 2004, we were awed by the elite force, with their black uniform and black head gears, they looked capable, trustworthy and fearsome for the criminals. We felt secure in their presence.
But as the days went by the shine started to fade. Misdeeds committed by RAB personnel make us upset. From the April 10, 2021 issues of the news papers, we learned that four RAB members were arrested in Dhaka on charge of abducting, torturing and demanding ransom from a man.
We hope law-enforcing agents will not sully their images and remain faithful to their sacred duties.
