How is it possible? Often we hear calls of separating religion from politics in order to build a commune free Bangladesh, which, to me, seems out of shallow knowledge or no idea at all about Islam. The initiative to ban religion in politics is never possible because Allah has tagged religious rituals with social obligations. As for example, Allah says, “I do not accept Namaj (prayers) of all except of him who expresses humbleness to My Greatness, controls evil instinct, keeps from committing crimes, feeds the hungry, clothes the nude, is kind to the distress, shelters the strangers (becoming sure of his real purpose) and all that he does for love of Me,”-Hadith No.246, Hadith-e-Qudsi. The Prophet Muhammad (SM) said, “Feed the hungry, serve the sick and release the (innocent) prisoners”, -Bukhari Sharif. The Holy Quran has repeatedly stressed on social obligation and made it condition of landing in the paradise. As such, whoso calls for banning religion in politics should study more to refrain from issuing confusing statement. The State should, however, bring the traders in religion to justice.
