Naogaon Correspondent :
Raninagar Upazila Health Complex is located at a distance of only 6 km from Naogaon district headquarters. There are still many neglected health care sections.
It is known that no caesarean section is performed there due to government indecision. In such cases, pregnant mothers and sisters in remote areas of the upazila have to undergo such operations at the District Sadar Hospital or in private clinics with spending extra money.
Raninagar Upazila Health Officer is deprived of the vehicles allotted in the name of the Upazila Health Officer in the health complexes of different upazilas of the district. In the ongoing Corona situation, 45 people in the upazila complex contracted Covid-19 infection and they returned home after receiving treatment at the hospital home quarantine.
Only one patient has been referred to the district headquarters and he is now healthy. There are no doctors specializing in any field in this hospital. There is no allocation for caesarean section and there is no specialist doctor Besides, the hospital is also plagued with multiple problems.
Talking to Upazila Health Officer Dr KHM Iftekharul Islam, he told this reporter that there are two major problems. The first is that no caesarean section has been officially announced at the hospital so far. There is not even a gynecologist.
Secondly, there are vehicles allotted to the officials in various health complexes but they are not provided here. As a result, he often has to travel in different modes of transport. He thinks that these issues need to be resolved quickly.
