Rallies held in city protesting destructive activities

Different socio-cultural and professional organizations organized rallies, human chains and hunger strike programs in front of the National Press Club on Monday protesting arson attack, anarchy, destruction and terrorism during the ongoing blockade enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance in the country.
The Trade Union Center brought out a procession from the Central Shaheed Minar early morning with banners saying, ‘Terrorism, burning, destruction and human killing should be stopped’. The rally marched towards Doyel Chatter of Dhaka University and ended in Press Club via Paltan.
Bangladesh College-University Teachers’ Association arranged a human chain program in the morning in front of the National Press Club protesting the destruction of education system and educational organizations.
The human chain and rally was presided over by the Chairperson of the organization Akhtaruzzaman. The rally was run by the general secretary Sirajul Haque of the organization. Additional Chairperson Nazrul Majid, Arun Kumar Goswamy were present, among others.
The Anti-communal Journalists’ Society organized a rally protesting petrol bomb attack in transports and human killings. They asked to stop anarchy and terrorism that is prevailing in the entire country.
Dhaka Muktangon Microbus and Car Owners’ Association and Bangabandhu Cultural Union and Federation of Bangladesh Human Rights Organization brought out rallies with similar demands.
