Old Dhaka ‘outfit’ Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society as a first team to ensure semi-final of the Federation Cup Football with a convincing 3-0 goals victory over Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) held on Monday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Nigerian defender Osagi gave Rahmatganj a deserving lead in the 19th minute with a brilliant header from inside the danger zone capitalizing a corner kicks from skipper Naimur Rahman Shahed (1-0).
Faisal Ahmed doubled the lead for Rahmatganj in the 31st minute. Taking a pass from fellow striker Ghanaian recruit Ismail Bangura Faisal pushed the ball home after dodging past a defender inside the D box (2-0).
Substitute striker Rashedul Islam completed the winners’ tally scoring the third goal for Rahmatganj in the 85th minute with a close range short after taking a back hill pass from Elias (3-0).
Rahmatganj will play their last group match against Brothers Union Club on Wednesday (May 17) at the same venue.
