RAB arrests three Supreme Court lawyers for financing militant outfit

bdnews24.com : The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three Supreme Court lawyers, who they claim had financed a militant outfit. Barrister Shakila Farzana, Advocates ‘Liton’ and ‘Bapon’ were arrested from Dhaka’s Dhanmondi around 11pm on Tuesday by a team of the Chittagong-based RAB unit. Shakila is the daughter of former whip and BNP leader Syed Wahidul Alam. RAB-7 Commander Colonel Mifta Uddin told bdnews24.com that these three had allegedly funded Tk 10 million to ‘Shaheed Hamza Brigade’ for procuring weapons. In April, several militants of this group were first arrested in Chittagong. Details will be provided at a press briefing later on Wednesday at the RAB-7 headquarters in Chittagong, said Col Uddin.
