According to the RAB, Karnafuli Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited has swindled crores of taka from the customers by tempting them of more profit. RAB-4 has arrested 10 people in this connection.
RAB-4 Captain and Additional DIG Mozammel Haque confirmed this at a press conference on the RAB media center in Karwanbazar of the city on Tuesday.
Mozammel Haque said that from Monday to Tuesday morning, RAB raided Karnafuli Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd office at Nannu Super Market of Mirpur Station 11.
In the raid, 10 people including Shakil Ahmed, Project Director of the company, were arrested.
However, during the operation, President Jasim and other members of the executive committee of the association fled the spot.
The 10 accused were identified as Shakil Ahmed, Chan Mia, AK Azad, Tajul Islam, Shahabuddin Khan, Abdus Chhattar. Masum Billa, Titu Mia and Atiqur Rahman.
