Police arrested at least 129 people, including 23 BNP-Jamaat men conducting overnight drives in different parts of Chittagong district.
The drives were conducted from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
Among the arrestees, 13 were from BNP and 10 from its major ally Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Moreover, the arrestees also include warranted accused and also accused of other regular cases.
District Additional Police Super (Special branch) Naimul Hasan informed the media in Chittagong on Wednesday.
He said the law enforcers have also seized a pistol, 2 pieces of cartridge, seven locally made weapons and 11 liters of liquor.
