Purbokone Editor passes away

Taslimuddin Chowdhury, editor of daily Purbokone, died at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday morning at the age of 64.
He left behind wife, two sons, one daughter, host of relatives and well- wishers to mourn his death.
The Namaz-e-Janaza of Taslim will be held on Nasirbad Government Boys High School premises at 8pm on Wednesday night.
Later, he will be buried at the graveyard of his native Hajibari village under Raojan upazila.
Leaders of Chittagong Press Club, Chittagong Union of Journalists, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, Chittagong Journalists Cooperative Housing Society and Chittagong Photo Journalists Association in separate statements expressed profound shock at the death of Purbokone Editor.
They also conveyed deep sympathy to the members of bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Taslimuddin took over the charges of editor of the daily on February 1, 1989.
Graduated from Bangladesh University of Technology (BUET) on architecture Taslim was associated with a number educational, social welfare and philanthropic organisations.
He was President of Architects Association, Chittagong,Director of Chittagong Stock Exchange, Member of Chittagong City Development committee, senate member of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University,Vice President of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber and President of Greater Chittagong Development Council.
