Dr Priyanka Gope is the National Film Award winner listeners’ choise popular singer. She rendered two Nazrul songs in government-grant movie Srabon Joshnai, directed by Abdus Samad Khokon. For the first time, Priyanka rendered Nazrul song in a movie. The singer is very much excited to render these
two songs in the movie. In the movie Srabon Joshnai, Priyanka rendered Nazrul songs Aamar Apnar Cheye Apon Je Jon and Sure O Bani’r Mala Diye Tumi Aamare Chhowaichhile. While sharing her feelings to render two Nazrul
songs in the film, Priyanka Gope said, “Earlier, I rendered Nazrul song for a short film. For the first time, I have rendered two Nazrul songs at a time in a movie. In fact, in our country, Nazrul or Tagore songs are being used in films a little bit. From that point of view, in Srabon Joshnai, not only Nazrul songs but also Tagore songs are also being used. It is really a delightful matter for Nazrul and Tagore songs-lovers. As a singer, it is also delightful
matter for me. I give thanks to this film related persons to give me the opportunity to render two Nazrul songs in the movie. I give also thanks to Binod Roy Dada to arrange muisc of these songs so nicely. I am really inspired by this scope and I hope in future, Nazrul and Tagore songs will be used regarding necessity of the story
of the movies.”
Dr Priyanka Gope first time got the National Film Award for
rendering song titled Seto Neerhara Bonopakhi, which lyrics were written by Pantho Prosad and muisc was composed by Swani Juabyer, in government-grant movie Anil Bagchir Ekdin. Meanwhile, she also lent her voice for play-back song in
another government funded movie Nekabborer Mohaproyan. Besides this, the singer also rendered play-back song in Manik Manobik’s Ajob Chhele. Dr Priyanka Gope
is now working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Music in University of Dhaka. She teaches classical music to them, who are interested to learn, at her residence in limited condition. Priyanka informed that on December 14 and 15, she will perform in government programmes. Therefore, on Victory Day and next two days, she will also perform in separate programmes. Priyanka rendered a patriotic song, Priyo Swadesh, lyrics were written by Abu Ishtiaq Hossain and music
was composed by Binod Roy, is now available on YouTube channel.
